"What if Jesus were a salesman, what would he have done differently?" That’s the opening question the author poses, and it’s a thought-provoking one. But this book doesn’t really get that much into directly answering it; it just gives some general hints. But that’s all right with me.
"RICH" is applied to all areas of one’s life, not just money. As the son of a preacher-evangelist, the author has a good start on the question of Jesus’ style. But he chose the field of sales, and learning to sell without manipulation–"persuasion" instead. He points out the power of having an "Origin Story" or a strong hook. The more visual, the better. Know your product well, too, just like God knows us, his creation. Also, learn to tell warm, gripping stories.
The "salting technique" is most interesting. The brief introduction to "power words" and "closing" are a good reminder for us as communicators, whether in sales or everyday life. Build a community in person and through social media. And offer a bargain as Jesus did–a new life for your old one!
This book is a quick read but it should get you thinking about the central "value principle" of honest selling.
