Zonaria plays melodic death metal in the vein of hypocrisy with symphonic elements in their sound that offer a dimmu borgir feeling also.Arrival Of The Red Sun is their third album and also their best along with their first one called Infamy And The Breed.It consists of catchy heavy riffs,thundering drums and cool brutal vocals.The lyrics though seem a little bit cliche and poor written.They are about armageddon,death and all the same stuff that every death metal band has talked about in the past.Overall this is a good buy for every melodic death metal fan out there.
Zonaria should have kept with and shaped the direction of \\”The Cancer Empire\\” but this direction is too melodic and distorted. I don’t understand what direction they think they’re going in, but they need to stop doing it. It’s not an earsore, but this is not good metal either.!
Zonaria has created the sound of Armageddon, sheer haunting brutality. Without mimicking their influences, they have matured into a solid powerhouse in the melodic death metal genre. The orchestration is well-done, a gloomy atmosphere is heard throughout the entire album. They have finely-tuned their skills that fully embrace their signature sound. I wouldn’t necessarily say they have gotten heavier or softer since their last album, they’ve just perfected the formula.
The lyrics aren’t very diverse, the same idea gets re-arranged a few times, but at least you can understand what is being said. This is a very impressive release, these guys are gaining momentum that will carry them to great success.
