   I own several versions of this movie. This version is my favorite because the extended version is exactly like the version shown on ABC Family Channel. I also bought Year 2 due to its sameness. It is great as well. My understanding is the rest of the years are not extended versions and have not purchased them. I, like most Potterheads, would buy all of these movies,again, if they were the extended versions like those versions shown on ABC Family. Hey, Amazon, can you help us out here?

   I had just started collecting the Ultimate Edition DVDs of the Harry Potter movies, after recently finding out that they are, well, ‘good’. I’ve compared the prices on eBay and here in Amazon, and this right here is cheaper. I’ve received the item in a very good condition. No missing contents or anything, no damage. Quality of the video is the same as other DVDs. The extended version only has a couple of more minutes than the theatrical version, but it’s still cool to see those scenes woven into the actual movie itself, not just on the Deleted Scenes section of the DVD. What’s ‘gold’ here, for me, are more special features, the cards, and album.
   For only $11, the Ultimate Edition of Philosopher’s Stone is definitely worth it. What I need now are the Order of the Phoenix & Half-Blood Prince, which are proving hard to find on an affordable price…

   I’m not going to review on the movie itself since there are plenty of other reviews about it. My review is specific for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone: Ultimate Collector’s Edition because Amazon doesn’t list total discs the product includes. I even contacted Amazon customer service on the question and they have no idea.

   The DVD discs are Region 1 locked, ie. US and Canada.

   There are total of 5 DVD discs but the Digital Copy disc has expired.

   The spoken and subtitles languages are English, French and Japanese.

   We decided to buy all ultimate versions of Harry Potter. I mean, why wouldn’t you. AND we decided to get the original version released in the UK, hence the Philosopher’s stone instead of the Sorcerer’s Stone. And it’s less expensive because it’s not the norm here in the US.

   For starters, this box set has the proper title of \\”Philosopher’s Stone\\”, rather than the US title of ‘Sorcerer’s Stone’ (I believe this is a Canadian release) and in the extended version of the film, via ADR or an alternate take, I don’t really know, every time the Stone is talked about, it’s called the Philosopher’s Stone by whoever is speaking. In addition to the other features of this set, this is like the icing on the cake for a detail-obsessed HP nerd like me.
   Since everyone in the known universe has probably seen this movie, I won’t go into the film all that much, beyond saying that the deleted scenes have been re-integrated into the movie much like the extended cuts of the LotR films, most of them to good effect; the scene with Neville leg-locked creates something of a redundancy with the kid’s discovering Nicholas Flamel’s identity on Dumbledore’s Wizard Card and then again in the library, but it’s forgivable.
   In any case, this is my preferred version of the film, and I think any true HP fan will agree.

   this is the uk 4-disc ultimate version, everything is the same as the usa 4-disc ultimate version except the movie title, which doesn’t bother me at all, and it’s so much cheaper than the usa version. definitely a good buy. worth every penny!
