Great read for the entire family. The book consists of short essays which would be fun to read on a road trip, around a campfire, during family night, or as a gift. We can all relate to the family adventures and smile as we recall our own family experiences. Enjoy
Planes, Trains and Chuck and Eddie is one of my favorite books about family life. It does a beautiful job of skating the fine line between poking fun at the insanity of it all (especially if you have younger twin brothers!) and the sweetness of our closest relationships. Flanagan does a great job of moving from one story to another, and while the characters differ from chapter to chapter, it all flows together seamlessly. Laugh aloud, heartwarming goodness that you’ll want to keep on your coffee table or nightstand.
This is a fun way to spend an afternoon and perfect for a plane or train ride. Planes Trains and Chuck and Eddie brought back fun memories growing up with my sister. I called her after I finished this book to reminisce and imagine what our lives would have been like if we would have had brothers. Well worth the $9 to spend the afternoon in a happy space, spur great memories, and share laughs with my sister.
A funny and insightful look into a family with characters you just couldn’t make up. A great read.

My husband and I were so happy from the start, we read it aloud in bed. The essays move right along, bringing chuckles all along the way. And with the laughter comes a grounding influence as we read it, taking us back to similar sights and sounds and situations in our own families. Kerrie Flanagan does a fine job of bringing the characters to life in short order – you can picture them and feel like you’ve met them. I’d recommend this book to anyone who likes short bursts of colorful stories that warm your heart and leave a smile on your face.
This book of short essays will delight any reader with a family and that’s just about all of us. The stories are fresh, the writing is crisp, and Kerrie Flanagan’s memories are as deliciously served as any pizza from Pizza Alley. It’s great for bed time reading – short, entertaining stories. In fact, it should be on the night stands of bed and breakfasts all over the country and in the waiting rooms of doctors’ and dentists’ offices.
This is a wonderful collection of heart-warming essays about family and all the headaches, humor and joys that come along with them. I found myself laughing out loud several times, especially during the opening essay, "Chuck and Eddie’s Sister," and "Pizza Alley." A well-written and enjoyable read!
A fun, lighthearted look at family and friends, travel and relationships. Ms. Flanagan takes the readers on several different journeys that wind through what might seem as simple family memories. Yet inside each is that special touch which reminds us how fun, wonderful, and amazing our lives can be. Most often, we just need to look to those close by.
