Kids book —-a gift and the girls loved it
I love the illustrations, but the story is pretty negative for young kids. <SPOILER ALERT> This is one of those books that has a dozen pages of negative messages with a single page of "just kidding" at the end. I get that it’s all meant in jest, but to a young child, it’s kind of nasty. </SPOILER>
That said, I love David Biedrzycki’s art. His book "Me and My Dragon" is fabulous. So I’m likely to try another Pallotta/Biedrzycki book.
Grandma and grandpa sent this to our then 3 year old. It’s been almost a year and she still thinks it’s so funny and there was a while when we had to read it every single day!!!
nice story–not too long, not too short–and bright, colorful pictures make this a fun read. my kids liked it a lot.
My 2.5 year old loves this book. I am a little bit over it by now but she could read it forever. It loses one star because there are other children’s books that I would rather read to her that are more entertaining as an adult and the book is a little flimsy.
I gave my star rating on the fact that this book is labeled for the wrong age group; it is a nice book for younger ones. It is a very cute story, but most 4-8 year olds like more length and substance to their books. I bought it as a gift for a 4-year-old, but I couldn’t bring myself to give it to him because of its simplicity. My daughter is 3 and likes books that take much longer to read, so I would say this is perfect for a 1-2 year old.
Bought this for my boyfriend’s 5-year-old son and he absolutely loves it. He wants it read to him every night.

Tells kids in a fun and understandable way that being different is ok. The kids inmy class loved this book.
