I bought this book for someone I know. I could see that she struggled with the balance of work and family. Although, I did not get the reaction I was hopeing for, she told me that she gave it a look, and will continue to explore some of the questions the book asks in each chapter. She said that she liked the fact that a women could go at her own pace, and add leadership skills all at once, or a little at a time. I looked at the book as well, and their wasn’t anything about the things that go on in the bedroom. The title was a little misleading for me. In addition, it was fairly short, but it didn’t muck around. The book gives a brief example of a leadership topic, then asks a few questions so the reader can find there own answers. The reader has to get a journal or note pad to write the answers so they can thoroughly see where they could improve in being more effective, but I thought it was pretty good. So all in all, if a women is trying to achieve balance in their life this would be a good book.
Leap into Leadership was a good book because it showed me ways to get more out of life. I have always struggled with running my job effectively, and then going home to have my husbands ideas redirect me. It gets frustrating sometimes! This would be an excellent book for new couples as well as middle aged. I will definitely recommend it.
Here is a woman who must have been teaching leadership, communication and life skills for a long time. She may not be an award-winning writer, but she knows her stuff, and I was pleasantly surprised at her new book, Leap into Leadership. It is very different from the other books I have read, because she allows you to discover your own answers. I also liked that you could read what the chapter was about, think a while, and then answer the questions in between everything else you have to do in a day. The book is an introspection of your life. Just for you to do a self-examination and then change the things you want to change. I give it a 5 star!
Here is a book that really speaks to women about how to have it all by being an effective leader at home as well as at work. With my busy life, I was able to take bites of time from my hectic day to read the brief chapter topics, and then reflect on them by answering the questions in my journal. Leap into Leadership showed me ways of getting more personal time for myself, and I began putting them into practice right away. I loved it, and would recommend it to every woman! I give it 5 stars.
Having a religious upbringing, I was taught to respect my husband and it seemed like everyone came before me. In Leap into Leadership, I was able to see ways to respect myself and keep peace at home. Some of the questions really allowed me to think about my role as an employee as well as a wife and mother. I would read a little, think about it, and then go back and answer the questions. I liked it, it was good.
