WARNING – NOT for use in Field Hockey. Too bad, because it fits well to protect the nose. The problem is there is not enough protection around the eye socket to prevent a wayward stick from contacting the eye.
The mask seemed great but it was too big for my 7 yr old’s head. I could have bent it to mold/form to his face but didn’t want to compromise the metal. He’s a small 7 yr old so it was hard to judge. He also did not like the way it fit around the back of his head. If he were bigger, it probably would’ve been a great mask.
I bought this for my 9 year old boy, and it fits him well without being too big, which I worried it might be. Though, I have a huge head, and the strap can be loose enough for it to fit me, too. It’s a lot lighter and more comfortable than I would have imagined. The view out through the "bars" is good and wide. Vision isn’t obscured at all. Definitely a good product. Funny, I always read Amazon reviews, but I never do them. Figured someone else might benefit. I recommend it.
My 7 year old son plays travel baseball and was unfortunate to take a ball to the eye which fractured his orbital bone. The healing time of the fracture is about 6 – 8 weeks depending the severity. As a dad who has also played both high school, college and semi-pro I knew that I had to get him back out on the field ASAP!! This mask has help get him back on the field and BOY HAS HIS CONFIDENCE SKY ROCKETED!!! The ergonomic partial face mask design is not over-bearing like the other models which covers the whole face and does not obstruct his peripheral vision. This product comes highly recommend. And his teammates think its super cool!!!!!
The mask is comfortable and protects well. The only problem is the foam padding which rests against the skin. When playing and you start to sweat, the foam rubber causes a rash.
Excellent product
After getting hit in the nose with a baseball and bleeding profusely, my son now wears this guard with confidence and no fear. It fits him good as he is an 8-year-old.
The mask was great. It fit well on my 10 year olds head and tried it on myself and it was quite comfortable. My daughter likes that she doesn’t feel smothered like with the full face mask. The mask allows a face range of vision without blind spots.
