Finally! Someone has written a personal development book meant for regular people! This highly readable and entertaining book contains wisdom, thoughts and ideas which can help anyone overcome adversity, grow in their personal and professional life and deepen their relationships and spirituality. By focusing the reader on taking control of what they can, taking responsibility for what they should and letting go of what is out of their sway, "It All Begins With ‘I’" lovingly teaches someone how to be in charge of their life. Fun, funny, charming and witty, I highly recommend this book, particularly for those new to personal development and for those who find the older classics too taxing to wade through.

As a Catholic high school religion teacher, I found Stuart Robinson’s book to be a profound read- worthy of reflection and implementation. The simple and practical knowledge he provides is worthy of sharing with my students during the upcoming school year and beyond. Although his book is not in actuality a religious book, many of the concepts he addresses can be applied in a religious context. Robinson’s description of the contradictory voices which occupy one’s mind contemporizes the teachings that St Ignatius of Loyola described in his Discernment of Spirits in the 16th century. Although Ignatius identifies the voices as either coming from God or Satan- with clear religious concepts throughout- Robinson allows the non christian (or even non religious) to apply these concepts to their lives without having to broach religious themes.

As St Ignatius did so many centuries ago, Stuart Robinson aptly compels the reader to be attentive to the voices in his/her head for the purpose of distinguishing positive voices which serve to build their confidence from negative voices which destroy the individual’s very sense of worth. Robinson challenges all of us to achieve stillness of mind, not solely for the purpose discerning internal voices, but so that we may no longer be our worst impediment; so that we may move forward in our lives by rejecting those voices that are overly critical of ourselves and embracing those which build us up to succeed. This is undoubtedly easier said than done, no doubt. Yet Robinson provides simple yet effective methods to achieve this goal. Robinson’s practical exercises serve to accentuate the positive voices while simultaneously allowing the negativity within us to dissipate.

My common critique of secular “self help” books is that they tend to be void of an ethos- exclusively grounded in real world practicality without addressing the overarching sense of the spiritual. Conversely, spiritual books are focused so much on the metaphysical journey that they often leave out the much needed real world techniques to excel. Stuart succeeds at the difficult task of appealing to both secular and religious persons. His description of the battle within oneself can be compared to many Catholic theologians throughout the centuries.

I wholly recommend this book to all who genuinely seek to improve their lives by seeking to know themselves better. Stuart Robinson taps into the major impediment preventing so many people from succeeding in their lives- themselves. He compels the reader to address the forces that are either propping them up or holding them down. Whether these forces come from the Individual, the Intergalactic or the Infinite, it all does, in fact, begin with “I”

This is a really great book for breaking through all kinds of obstacles that hold us back from realizing our potential and accomplishing our dreams. It can begin with something as seemingly insignificant as our exchanges at the check out stand to embarking on a journey to goals we long feared impossible or afraid would never come true. You won’t get it all in the first read. Its not about ‘the read’. Its about putting Stuart’s rules lovingly to work in our lives. It’s a night stand book. A tag-a-long-everywhere-I-go book. Read it. Live it! Well written! Concise! Fat Free!

Phenomenal dose of common sense in a package that’s well organized and conceived by someone who truly understands the human condition. Mr Robinson has a way of dissecting what we put in our own way that can create a barrier to success and personal happiness. This is one book to keep by the bedside and consult nightly as you review the obstacles of the day. Self help never seemed so logical.

"It All Begins with ‘I’," by the multi-hyphenated (successful actor-writer-singer-songwriter-director-casting agent-acting coach-entrepreneur) Stuart K Robinson, is a perfect book for anyone who is looking at their life and wondering is this all there is? How can I feel the joy of living and purpose in life?

Robinso speaks with warmth, humor and common sense, and is the first to admit that he is not saying anything we don’t already intrinsically know. He just gently nudges that part of us that knows.we can and must do better.

With short, readable.chapters, he highlights basic rules for daily living that can put us.back on track.

I was lucky enough to see him at a book signing and got a chance to hear him share his own amazing journey out of poverty in the depressed northeast to an almost ideal life in Los Angeles. For a.kid who barely spoke, he has a lot to say and it’s all inspiring.

Buy this book and savor each insight, copy down his tips on a Post-It, stick on your bathroom mirror and go live your best, highest life.

What an amazing book! So inspiring and most importantly, doable! So many times you read things that are nice ideas but hard to apply. This isn’t like that. I love this book. I wish it was on audible!

This book is really wonderful. It is a book of acceptance, self study, introspection and offers a clear, gentle way to insure more control over one’s life. It has already eliminated needless anxiety in my life especially about those things that are beyond my control and a simple way to be able to accept unconditionally those around me. It is definitely a "re-read"!!!

I love this book, it was the tool I was looking for after making a grand transition in my life and hoping the joy would all last. Stuart gives the life’s lessons to create life changes and to keep them going. I loved this quote among so many – "So the starting point in any positive change is making a change in what you believe about you. What you can do, who you can be, and what is possible." I’ve highlighted and turned down pages and have bought another copy for a friend. I’m an acting coach and author of ACTING IS EVERYTHING, I will recommend all my actors and other creatives I know to grab, IT ALL BEGINS WITH I! Is it too much to say it’s a masterpiece?

I have read many books on self help and motivation. I have finally found a book that speaks in easy to understand language and encourages me to take responsibility for my actions. New rule of thinking #3, I will always do the highest thing, reinforces my responsibility to myself, my family, and to this planet. Thank you Stuart. Thank you for simplifying the complex.

I purchased my copy at Stuart K Robinson’s LA event and I’m glad I did. It is a very spiritually (versus religiously) uplifting book and very practical. Mr. Robinson has the ability to state very eloquently, yet in plain English, examples of how we frustrate our own lives. Then he gives an equally clearly stated action or way of thinking to calm your inner turmoil. He referred to his book as guide and that is a great way to describe it. I’ve read the other reviews and agree with their statements and excitement about his It All Begins with I." The book is compact and full of excellent suggestions for living a more positive and powerful life. Definitely one of my better purchases. It is a great book.

Simple, concise and common sense ideas that help me maintain focus and get out of my own way! A great little book to keep by the bedside. The ideas are not didactic or based on abstract theories, but put forward in brief, concrete concepts. Highly recommended!

A "must have" book for anyone looking to restructure their way of thinking.

I hate "self help" books. I’ve read many, because I need all the help I can get. Sitting down to read, Stuart K. Robinson’s, "It all begins with I," I was prepared to, by pure contempt, to dislike a book of this nature because of my arrogance. I wanted to find mistakes and maxims I disagreed with. I read the book in 3-4 hours. I re-read the book the next day. This reading I took my time, because this isn’t so much a self help, it is an adjustment to a way of thinking and living. I’ve had significant experience with 12-Step Programs and their literature. As I’ve said before, I have read a multitude of Self-Help books, as well as, The Bible, The Torah, The Koran, the works of Gandhi and Confucius and many other disciplines, both philosophy and psychology. The thread I promote as echoing other peoples comments are, "It’s all BS, Common sense and mumbo jumbo." This was my "ah ha" moment. Of course I’m going to continue with my contempt until I was ready to open up to the potential of widening my perception. Stuart helped me accomplish, that which is considered obvious (though to date, unwilling to modify my perceptions) to expand. Simply. Obviously. and intelligently. I knew I had to remap my perception and this book has already made this process not only easier, but acceptable within my suspicious nature. I intend to challenge some of his "rules," not because they are by nature "stupid,: but because I accept that I may not completely understand. That is immediate growth, made available to me by the courtesy of Stuart K. Robinson and "It all Begins with I." As I’ve said before, much of this is common sense. But, when I heard the, "If you stop and exercise and eat healthy food, you will feel better," because of such and such. How many times have we heard this? Why did it resonate when I read this book? Was it timing? Was I desperate enough to accept this? Or, was it said in such a non didactic way, that I didn’tfight the message? Probably all of the above. But ,the spirit of Stuart’s soul is evident throughout and I can already recognize a shift in my own perception, that I am sold on the precept that dreams, regardless of age and experience can be fulfilled. I’m looking forward to the follow-up, LOL, " We Begins with Us"????? I recommend this book strongly as a tool for putting into action, everything we already know. Do it, what’s the worse that can happen?

Such a great read! Simple but powerful rules to live your life by. Stuart K Robinson helps pull everything into perspective through story, analogies and life experience. Instead of a book filled with lecturing and concepts that are hard to follow this book reads like a wise friend giving the much needed secrets to living better and enjoying life to the fullest.

This is a great book written in such a personal style that it feels like a private conversation. I had many "Aha" moments as I read each chapter. The advice is practical and applicable to everyone, regardless of background. I just finished reading it, but I’ve already had several situations where I can apply the New Rules in daily life. Thanks to Robinson for a practical handbook for living a joyful and fulfilled life.
