The great intrigue of the human personality is why we do what we do and why we act like we act. Trading Faces takes a thoughtful look at why people often dissociate. Author Quinn Schipper’s thoughtful analysis of dissociation and his examples from years of working in the arena of dissociative behaviors helped persuade me that many people have no idea why another side of themselves suddenly jumps out or presents itself. Schipper argues that many people usually do not even understand when they are doing it. Schipper clearly feels that one really has nothing to fear by addressing his/her deep-seated fears and odd behaviors head on. In fact, Schipper has spent years helping to bring healing to lots of wounded souls. As Schipper relates the stories of people with whom he as worked over the years, you’ll get a good idea of how dissociation presents itself, how currently it is affecting your life and how healing and freedom really are possible. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself mustering the courage to do something about it.

The way I see myself and others has been revolutionized because of the principles set forth in TRADING FACES. I have more compassion and a deeper understanding of my own mind as well as behaviors of others (however irrational those behaviors may seem). This isn’t about a \\”quick fix.\\” Reading this book will help you see that it is possible to be whole & to find real, lasting healing for your deepest hurts.

Trading Faces offers the reader explanations as to why people have certain offensive or defensive behaviors. The case studies offer insights into observable behaviors/reactions that are rooted in a person’s past experience. The book was very insightful and helpful in understanding peoples’ pain and how to help them uncover the source of their pain in order to help them obtain peace.
